Earlier this year, Swiss designer SEIZ debuted a unique, lightweight, visually appealing, and exceptionally well-built customizable backpack.

The Urbanpack gained instant popularity among business commuters because of its great flexibility and features, including a padded sunglass compartment, magazine pocket, a secure main compartment, and an ergonomic back panel. The backpack even offers extra-wide shoulder straps to prevent clothes from wrinkling.

Through the customization process, users can embroider their name with black yarn on the Urbanpack. A sternum strap can also be added for increased stability when riding a bike or motorcycle. The laptop compartment can house computer sizes ranging from 8.9 inches to 15.4 inches, keeping it securely in place and well protected.

With a new solar kit option, the Urbanpack is converted into a mini traveling power plant that can harness the power of the sun, providing recharging capabilities for small mobile devices.

The solar panel, located on the front main compartment, captures the sunlight and recharges the battery pack, which is located directly above the solar panel. SEIZ has obviously thought out every detail and has included adaptors to allow charging for the vast majority of MP3 players, PDAs, mobile phones and GPS navigators.

The company also offers foldable solar kits that are specifically designed for laptop battery charging and other power-hungry devices.

The Urbanpack is available now for $170, and $430 with solar kit.
