You might be familiar with the Nike+ system. Introduced in 2006 to work with the iPod, the system allowed athletes to track walking or running and gave users feedback on how many calories were burned, distance traveled, etc. Nike has upped the ante with the new Nike + FuelBand. The FuelBand uses an accelerometer to track and convert walking, running, basketball, workouts, dancing—just about anything you do—into “fuel,” which is displayed right on your wrist. The more you do, the more fuel points you gain, turning your FuelBand’s display from red to green. $149.
