In 2009, the Transition prototype took its first test flight. The “Flying Car” is a two-seat aircraft designed to take off and land at local airports—and drive on any road.
According to Terrafugia, Inc., developer of the Transition, transforming from plane to car takes the pilot less than 30 seconds. Deliveries of the Transition are scheduled to begin in late 2011.
